Volunteer FAQs
Frequently asked questions about volunteering with us.
Volunteers are the heartbeat of our mission to end hunger. We rely on more than 93,784 volunteers who donated 317,161 hours last year, helping make it possible for Second Harvest Food Bank of Metrolina to feed more hungry children, seniors, families, veterans, and pets.
The NC Independent Sector for nonprofits calculates the value of volunteer time at $31.68 per hour which equates to more than 9.5 million dollars in savings! Whether you can volunteer once a week, once a month or once a year; individually or with a group of 5 to 20; whatever your commitment, every hour of assistance helps us ensure our hungry neighbors will have food.
