Job Description:
Second Harvest Food Bank of Metrolina, the region’s largest hunger fighting agency, is looking for dedicated and compassionate individuals to fill the following position in our Charlotte, North Carolina warehouse:
Primary Duties:
- Maintain food storage, refrigerated and frozen foods in the warehouse;
- Maintain warehouse and freezer area in a manner that ensures compliance with external regulatory bodies and assures integrity and accountability of inventory;
- Follows standard operating procedures, safety policies, and inventory control guidelines to ensure safe and accurate outcomes;
- Pull orders accurately and communicates
- any discrepancies to manager;
- Properly complete all applicable paperwork;
- Maintains clean and organized work spaces;
- Operate forklift and pallet jack safely in moving/loading/unloading truckloads of product and supplies as needed.
Minimum Requirements:
High School Diploma/GED required. Food Safety Certification (provided by SHFBM). Minimum of one year experience in a distribution center. Working knowledge of reclamation principals and procedures. Good verbal communication skills. Good time management and prioritization skills. Ability to work effectively and efficiently both independently and in a team environment.
Working Conditions:
Warehouse environment. Safety sensitive position due to regular interaction with heavy machinery. Must be able to perform moderate to heavy physical labor (lift 30 lbs. frequently and 50 lbs. occasionally). Daily walking, bending, reaching, pushing and pulling (300 lbs. with use of manual pallet jack). Frequent standing, walking, lifting, carrying, and reaching. Must work in constantly changing climate temperatures, humid and noisy conditions.
Hours:
Various shifts available
The position reports directly to the Warehouse Manager.
You must be able to pass a background check and drug testing.
